Through the London Graphics Centre "Shop Art" exhibition, my painting "For you were made from Dust" is available to pre-order for a strictly limited time only as a large-format poster-sized A1 print.

You can order your print NOW until the end of JUNE 2013. After this time Pre-Orders will CLOSE and no-more A1 prints will be offered again. This is a very rare opportunity to own one of my artworks printed on this scale - it will not be offered again. Once printing commences through the London Graphics Centre I will be packaging and shipping all prints to their new homes - exact dates are still to be confirmed.

Whispers

Residencies are a great opportunity to try new things and experiment with techniques or materials you might not have access to in your normal studio practice. I’ve been trialing working much larger than is possible on my small studio desk – I’m working on a couple of pieces over 100cm in height.

With my new ghosts, I feel it is important for me to steer my usually meticulously tight style towards a much less tangible, looser handling of paint. Using larger brushes keeps me from being able to get too delicate and detailed. I’m actually finding my mind a little turbulent this week - but my mood has actually benefited me – loose washes of fading colours lift out incomplete faces from the white paper – lingering memories and unsettling spirits.

And as a little peek into my working practice, my friend and fellow artist participating in the residency found my concept sketches pinned to the wall behind me hilarious, so different in style and mood from the final paintings.

Here are my toothy ghosts in the early concept stages.

Feather Ribs

The final painting to fill the walls for my first Solo Exhibition, opening this May at the Eszterház Palace in Győr. No new paintings will be showcased for a while, as I am heading to Paris for a few weeks, and return to Hungary right before my show is to open. Take care, until then!

I’ve been testing combining my detailed watercolour portraits with elements of collage and mixed media. My first experiment with this technique was BriarRose, and I liked the result enough to try a few more variations. I haven’t yet shared them here, as they are mostly works in progress. I finished the first small ghost though, so I can show her to you!

The Butterfly Bones is a very talented, incredible friend of mine, and I wanted to feature her beautiful artworks today....

I have posed for her fairy tale, ephemeral photographs with much joy... to be a part of such a unique and haunting vision is really special, and the artworks she then creates from these photographs are breathtaking. Glimpses of fragile beauty, macabre fairy tale twists, misty pastel dreams, fading memories and aching longings.... Her work sends shivers up my spine and makes me yearn to fall into the world she creates and lose myself for hundreds of years....
